The main composition in the work is a shepherd and his partner - a dog. Sitting on a stump in the forest: hanging his hands on his knees, lowering his shoulders and head, he was able to fully convey to the viewer the fatigue and anxiety of the shepherd. The color scheme of the picture is very rich, in which a combination of bright and dark colors, the play of light and shadow is skillfully used. Through the plot of this work, the author was able to convey to the viewer a sharp, purposeful, lively, simple and sincere mood without any exaggeration and luxury.
