About work
Historically, the city of Samarkand was conditionally divided into two parts - the old and the new city. The old city was the center of craft and commercial life, and the new city was industrial, formed on the site of gardens, fields and cottages. The picture shows the old part of the city. Trade is an integral part of everyday life. A narrow corridor through the center divides the picture into two equal parts. On one side, there are people doing business, and on the other side, the back view of the stalls. The stalls are full of products. The six human figures depicted at the beginning of the corridor are distinguished by their dynamics and clothes. Characters wearing shawls, turbans, cloaks and chopans are as diverse as their movements.
