About work
The work depicts an old, narrow and dead-end street of Samarkand, created based on the landscape genre. The artist was able to capture his childhood, his innocent and pure with longing world and generalize it in the image of the street on which he grew up. If you look closely at the picture, then in every line, in every object, you can feel the atmosphere of antiquity. The artist did not lose sight of the fact that the doors of the houses on the street were built opposite each other, the thatched walls were cracked, and the paint of the uneven stony corridor and gate was old and faded. The image of the street is wide from the center and narrows towards the inside of the street. Skillfully using the play of light and shadow, the artist showed that it was a dream. The image of a lit candle against the wall in the picture is considered a symbol of “hope”, and the artist “wrote out” with his lines the feeling of returning to the place where he grew up.
