About work
This painting, made in the everyday genre, personifies the speed and intensity that are considered the most important for people today. In the work, the artist unusually depicted a vulture, which is a symbol of speed, and a high-speed train, which is considered modern technology, as if they were playing a competition side by side. The fact that the front of the train is black and red gives it a special beauty and strength. The railway track divides the picture into two parts: at the top, the engine moves forward across a wide arid field, leaving a plume of black smoke behind it, and below, the engine waving its bright red footprints in the wind. An image of a screaming vulture is shown. The horse, which is a symbol of greatness, courage and loyalty, "proved" its superiority over any technique, even next to a speedster. The smoke, expanding in the transverse direction, makes the pictorial composition more alive and gives the viewer the impression that he is sculpting gray lead balls in a rainy, cloudy sky. On the basis of lively and bright colors, landscapes of nature are also depicted, tall trees covered with greenery stand alone on the side of the road. One part of the neighborhood is covered in brown and green, while the other part consists of stony and dry fields. While viewing the picture, the viewer will undoubtedly feel as if he is sitting in a red train car and watching the fast-paced life that the creator wants to tell about.
