About work
As you know, Shakhrisabz embroidery gained fame in Central Asia due to its originality and tradition back in the 19th century. Above we see a pillowcase typical of the Shakhrisabz style of embroidery. The pillow cover is sewn in the “iroki” style, with an evenly distributed floral pattern. The border of the embroidery is decorated with dark green silk, and the base is white. The image of a porcelain flower is used as the main decoration, and it is called the “Topchinni” pattern.
At one time, the great commander Amir Temur brought the best artisans and painters from other countries to Shakhrisabz, and the style of painting, carving, drawing flowers, plant forms enriched with leaf patterns, folk forms developed there, embodied images appeared. The pillow case is also handcrafted from silk dyed in natural colors, and the design of leaves and carnations on it represents the endless landscape, symbols of abundance, vitality, spring and life.
